A New Chapter Begins

Hello friends and cyber cronies,

For those of you that have been following my trajectory, you know much of what has occurred, but for those new here, I will give you a quick update.

Following a number of tough years filled with both professional and personal challenges, I came to the conclusion that it was necessary to implement significant changes in my life. I sold my house, disposed of most of my belongings, and purchased a ticket to South America, specifically to Peru.

My intention was to return to the kind of photography that truly mattered to me, focusing on storytelling, and to reestablish my connection with my photojournalistic origins. Also, I yearned to explore the wider world once more.

I took care of the last of the details in my life back in Canada, sparked my creative & professional self with a photojournalism workshop, did a few fun things for me, said goodbye to friends and family, then set off with my camera bag and my writing journal.

I had been to Peru a few times prior and had felt a deep connection with the culture and the people. I wanted to return and imbed myself in the culture to work on a meaningful project.

I had planned to spend the first month in Peru settling into my new environment by casually exploring with my camera, stopping to write about the experience over coffee, good food, and wine, and to begin taking Spanish lessons. Then, once the new year came, I would start working on my photo project.

That was the plan…

However, I arrived in the midst of an attempted Coup D’état, and my plans were immediately altered.

To know how things really went and where things go from here, continue to read my blog The Sunday Still. You can also  subscribe to my newsletter below.

As I have previously mentioned through social media posts, I will not be sharing the bulk of my work and the more in-depth stories on Facebook or Instagram moving forward. For a variety of reason, I will share my work primarily through this blog. I will share some photos through social media platforms, but the good stuff and the stories will be here.

Thank you for your continued interest and support.
