New Year - Renewed Focus

Review Santa Fe commences with the Portfolio Walk, which is an event open to the public. It was estimated that over a thousand people came through to view the work of the one hundred photographers.

Greetings everyone, and Happy New Year!

It has been some time since I have written. I was on a whirlwind North American tour from late October to early December.

My display for the Portfolio Walk in Santa Fe.

The main purpose of my trip was to share the project with industry professionals at Review Santa Fe. The annual photography event brings esteemed publishers, curators, and editors together with one hundred selected photographers from around the world.

Photographers are given the opportunity to present their photo projects with the industry professionals to receive feedback and possibly find publication and exhibition opportunities. It is also an opportunity to meet other photographers and see their work, which is also inspiring.

I am very pleased to share that the response I received to my photography project was overwhelmingly positive. I believe constructive things will result from the event. In fact, I have already been interviewed by Heidi Volpe about the project for aPhotoEditor.com as a direct result. This will get the project out to even more industry professionals.

I will be following up with those I had the privelage to meet in the following weeks. Things do not move quickly in the photo industry, and I need to play the long game. However, the response I received has me confident the work will find its rightful home.

Following the event, I made my way back to Canada to catch up with family and friends, in addition to handling a few personal matters. The time always feels too short, but I had to get back to work on the project.

New year - new press ID

I am back in Peru and refocused on the project. My aim is to finish the photography for The Condor & The Bull by autumn. If all goes well, I will release the photo book in 2027. Fingers crossed.

I wish you all the best for the year ahead.  I sincerely hope everyone is finding effective methods to navigate the chaos that 2026 has brought upon us. Hopefully better days lie ahead.

With gratitude,

MB
